Introduction to Hangun

Course Objective

This course of instruction will be geared for the new handgun owner. The focus is on safety.

Note:

This is a 4 hour class
Limited to 8 students max
50 rounds of ammunition, safety glasses and ear protection

You will learn:

Responsible firearms ownership
Firearms safety for the home, workplace and vehicle
Safety concerns and practices while transporting a firearm
Safe use and handling of firearms
Potential dangers (ricochet, accidental discharges, misidentification)
Ready positions
Components and operation of modern pistols
Loading and unloading of pistols
Fundamentals of basic shooting
Preventive maintenance

Prices & Policies:

The cost of each class is $125.00 per student.
A non-refundable deposit of $75.00 is required.*
- Deposit must be made to hold spot. Remainder due by or at the class
- Deposit may be refunded if your spot is filled/replaced
- May pay full amount when paying deposit
A minimum of four students per class is required.
- Class will be cancelled if the minimum number of students is not met (In such a case a full refund will be issued).

Basic Handgun 101

Note:

This is a 4 hour class
Limited to 8 students max
150 rounds of ammunition, safety glasses and ear protection

Course Objective

This course of instruction will be geared for the newer handgun owner, someone who has a basic understanding of safe firearm handling. The focus is safety and applying the basic fundamentals of marksmanship skills out to 7 yards.

Loading and unloading the pistol
Ready Positions
Basic fundamentals of Stance, Grip, Sights, Trigger Press
Dry Practice (non-firing drills) to re-enforce these skills

Basic Handgun 102

Course Objective

This course of instruction will build on Handgun 101 and how to apply the fundamentals of marksmanship on demand out to 10 yards…maybe even 15. You will learn:

Ready positions
Loading and unloading of pistols
Fundamentals of basic marksmanship focusing on Grip, sights, trigger press, and recoil management
Basic malfunction clearance procedure
Dry Practice (non-firing drills) to re-enforce these skills

Prerequisite: Handgun 101 or instructor permission
This is a 4 hour class
Limited to 8 students max

“I took Handgun 1, 2 and 3 with Keith – he is a very good instructor and his classes are all about the students, and not about him. He watches every student and coaches them according to what they need. What makes his training especially great is his ability to figure out what works best for each individual – for example, in Handgun 3 we were going through a drill where we move diagonally while engaging a target. One of the students didn’t do it right: he was not able to move smoothly and shoot accurately. Keith figured out a way to “deliver” instructions to him in way that was different for the rest of us and he got the job done. I highly recommend his classes. I will sign up for them again.
